Treaties signed after The Battle of San Jacinto one public one private. The public treaty stated that he and his troops would retreat from Texas. The secret treaty stated that Santa Anna would go back to Mexico and convince the inhabitants that Texas would be independent and that the Rio Grande would be the border.
