mar 19, 1836 - Battle of Coleto
Description:
The Texans surrendered to General Urrea in the Mexican army because of James Fannin choosing to hold off orders from General Sam Houston. Fannin was supposed to retreat due to Houston's orders because the Mexican Army had split up looking to kill. Fannin waited a few days to retreat and when he did, he stopped in a field to let his men and his calvary rest. Then in the field he and his men were cornered by the Mexicans and they surrendered in the fight.
