may 14, 1836 - Treaty of Velasco
Description:
After the Battle of San Jacinto, on May 14, 1836, the treaty of Valasco was signed. The Texans managed to capture Santa Anna. Most of the Texans wanted to kill him, but Sam Houston didn’t feel the same way. The treaty basically said that Santa Anna said that he would recognize Texas as an independent country and that the Rio Grande would be the border. Santa Anna didn’t keep his end of the deal very well. The Treaty of Valasco ended the Texas Revolution, and not only had Texas believe it was an independent country but the rest of the world at well.
