Description:
After the Battle of Coleto Creek, the Texans were held in Goliad for 25 days until finally on March 27, 1836, after General Urrea got orders from Santa Anna, the Texans were marched out to a field and put in 3 lines. The Mexicans soldiers lined up in front of them and shot. A few Mexican soldiers shot over the Texans’ heads and allowed them to escape. Over 300 men died that day, but a couple of men managed to escapes. This was known as the Goliad Massacre.
