Operating since 1985, Atlantis went on 33 missions in orbit, until the shuttle program began to shut down. After nearly twenty-six years, Atlantis took one final trip, thus ending the shuttle program. However, it is not forgotten- the spacecraft now has its own exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center, where you can see the real thing in person.
