apr 12, 1961 - First Human in Orbit/Space
Description:
Yuri Gagarin, a twenty-seven-year-old Soviet, was launched into orbit, courtesy of the Vostok One rocket. He orbited the Earth once and then re-entered in just 89 minutes. As the Russians advanced even further beyond the United States, Americans began to fear their power. It was a melancholy time for the USA.
