Description:

The Sugar Act of 1764, was the first tax on the American colonies by the British Parliament. Its purpose was to raise revenue through the colonial customs service and to give britsh sellers more power and more ability to enforcing customs law. It enraged colonists because they were not given a choice this was their first time they felt the need to rebel against British rule and thus was a leading factor towards the American revolution.
