After 9 months on the run Saddam Hussein was found and captured by US soldiers on december 13th, 2003. He was hiding in a 8 foot hole about 9 miles outside of his hometown of Tikrit. He was put on trial and later sentenced to death and executed in 2006. (History.com)Added to timeline:
