His model is a Planetary model where negatively-charged electrons orbit a small, positively-charged nucleus. This model is similar to planets orbiting the sun. He was able to calculate the energy level of the orbits. The electron cloud differs in the Bohr model. Transitions between these allowed orbits result in the absorption or emission of photons.
