jan 1, 622 BC - The Babylonian Empire

Description:

In 622, the Babylonian empire took over the Assyrian empire and made the second empire. In 587, they destroyed Jerusalem including the First Temple. They took thousands of people from there and captured them. They then brought them to their empire. The Jews lived there in Exiles. In 538 B.C though, the Persian empire conquered the Babylon empire and took over most of southwest Asia. Cyrus let the Jews to return to their home. And many of them did return to Judah, but some of them just stayed because the lived there for a while and felt as if their place was there. But still all Jews look at Israel as their spiritual home.
