When the time of Judges came to an end, Saul became the first king of Israel. The next king was David. He became the king in about 1000 B.C. . David captured Jerusalem and made it his capital. David is also known for his beautiful psalms. After David, his son Solomon became the king. Solomon was the on who built the First Temple in Jerusalem.
