Description:
It was the first successful vaccine ever developed. Created by Edward Jenner, he noticed that people who had gotten cowpox were immune to smallpox. He introduced a weaker form of the virus to people and allowed them to build up an immunity to stronger versions. With the development of this vaccine, longer lifespans were achieved and there was a greater understanding of medicine.
