jan 1, 1757 - Madame du Coudray publishes "Manual on the Art of Childbirth".
Description:
Madame du Coudray created a manual on revolutionary midwifery techniques. She dedicated her life to improving practices that would lead to an increase in the birth survival rates. King Louis XV appointed her to spearhead a public health campaign in which she would counteract low birth survival rates. Because this was the first public health campaign of its time, it was a change from previous practices.
