Description:
It was the largest nuclear test ever conducted by the United States. The device was a lithium deuteride powered thermonuclear bomb. Its yield was 16 megatons instead of the anticipated 6 megatons, which caused a radioactive contamination in the areas east of Bikini Toll.
The "Shrimp" was the cylinder that housed the explosive. It weighed 10,7 tons and measured 4,6 m in length and 1,4 m in diameter.
