Cholesterol level, blood pressure, and electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities are found to increase the risk of heart disease. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is established as a charitable organization in order to fund research into cardiovascular disease. American scientist Ancel Keys discovered that heart disease is rare in diet low in saturated fat.
