Description:
The Framingham Heart Study finds that cigarette smoking increases the risk of heart disease. The first successful coronary artery CABG bypass operation (anastomosis) is performed by German surgeon Robert H. Goetz. Aspirin was recognized as an important drug to prevent heart attack and stroke.
