jul 17, 1857 - Dred Scott v. Stanford

Description:

Dred Scott lost his case to Stanford. Scott was told that since his owner took him into a freed state, didn't mean he was free because he was property. He was still the slave of his owner even is he was in a freed state. This did not sit well with the northerners because they were always the freed states and now a slave is allowed to be there. They did not like that he was not a freed man.
