jan 1, 1794 - The Semaphore System
Description:
 In 1794, a french man named Claude Chappe developed a system called Semaphore in which a wooden arm would sit on top of high towers and convey different messages depending on the position it is in. Messages were read by telescopic readings from 5 to 10 miles away.
