Description:

Northerners were already furious over the Dred Scott Decision, but going against popular vote and attempting to admitting Kansas into the union as a slave state, was fuel that made the fire explode. The most influential senator Douglas, persuaded congress to deny its admission. Then, Buchanan, determined to support the South, negotiated to by Cuba. He planed on making Cuba a slave state. This made the split in the nation between north and south gap even further.
