apr 11, 1968 - Civil Rights Act of 1968

Description:

This is also known as the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which prohibited individuals from not selling to houses to people based on their race, sex, religion or national origin. It was passed by President Johnson. A major cause of this event was sadly the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., which spurred the legislative branch to pass this act faster than most others. A major cause would be that it was one of the final pushes in the civil rights movement, and it increased the total amount of black citizens living in urban settings exponentially.
