Description:
This was a landmark piece of legislation which banned the discriminatory practices that many southern states were employing to keep African Americans from voting. It was signed by Lyndon B. Johnson in Washington D.C. It was a result of the Advocacy of the Civil Rights movement. It helped to provide more agency for the African American community.
