Description:
The March on Washinton was a march that was meant to draw attention to the inequalities African Americans were experiencing and to show support for pending legislation. Martin Luther King Jr. lead the march along with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Also, the march included 200,000 people that gathered in front of the Lincoln Memorial, In Washington D.C. The cause of this event would be Brown v. Board of Ed. as this Court Decision brought recognition to the inequality minorities were facing. One major effect of this event was that this heavily influenced JFK in creating a civil rights bill in Congress.
