mar 3, 1820 - Missouri Compromise
Description:
Congress passed a bill granting Missouri statehood as a slave state. At the same time, it prohibited slavery in the rest of the Louisiana Purchase Territory north of the 36th parallel.
It gave more power to the south for a while but at the same time promised more power for the north in the future which increased tensions between the north and south.
