The Hive fell due to Nuns and Frost's migration from the server.

The Hive at peak contained over twenty players and was truly the greatest base and longest lasting on Purity Vanilla. The Hive included frost's gold/xp farm, many artistic builds, the homes of over 20 players, and so many shulkers the ground was covered by shulkers in some places.
