jan 1, 1377 - Quarantine
Description:
To keep groups of people apart so disease could not spread. This concept began after the black death in the city of Ragusa (now known as Dubrovnik). Arriving ships were ordered to wait 30 days in the harbor before docking to ensure nobody was infected. This successful concept went on to be used in other parts of Italy and Europe by the end of the Middle Ages
