After the second world war ended there was an election.
The labour party promised to follow Beverage's advice, while Churchill - conservative - refused to make such a promise.
The labour party led by Clement Atlee won easily.
They kept their promise and within the next few years introduced: the NHS, weekly family allowance payment, benefits, slum clearance, school leaving age raised to 15 and more free university places created.
