jan 1, 1824 - Labor strikes in Lowell, Mass
Description:
This is when many workers in the Lowell Textile factories had a labor strike. They were protesting their wages and also their treatment inside the factories. This is significant because this eventually paved the way for the workers rights movement and set an example for factory workers who are treated bad. Also develops the idea that factories must treat their workers somewhat good, making these large companies think about the workers needs.
