jan 1, 1809 - Non-Intercourse Act

Description:

This act was passed to change the Embargo Act of 1807. It allowed trade and commerce with all countries but Great Britain, France, and their Allies. This was a vast improvement for the people of the US and helped our economy as people were able to trade and make money again. This allowed the US to gather money which helped us get through the war of 1812.
