Description:

This treaty was between the US and British Canada. The 49th parallel was the official boundary. This treaty also said that they both had access to the Oregon territory and whoever settled it first would get it. This then caused the US to encourage its citizens to settle Oregon. This expanded space allowed the US to have more land per capita, which could be used for farming. The farmed products can then be used as exports or to fuel the economy.
