jan 10, 1935 - Stresa Front

Description:

The Stresa Front was a meeting with the leaders of France, Italy, and Britain to discuss the rising threat of Germany. Germany had been defying the Treaty of Versailles, by building up their army and an air force. The three powers tried t put sanctions in Germany but they were weak efforts. These efforts were even less effective when Britain signed the Anglo-German Naval Agreement with Germany which stated that Germany was allowed to build up its army. Britain signed this agreement without the knowledge of Mussolini which ended up upsetting him. This incident angered Mussolini enough to invade Abyssinia.
