oct 29, 1971 - Emails
Description:
Emails began on the desktops as far back as 1965 but did not come into widespread use until 1971. Ray Tomlinson also invented the "@" which proved very useful in addressing the email to the right person, without going through the much more troublesome method of leaving a message on the computer in hopes of having the right person read it.
