jan 1, 100 - 2 Baruch
Description:
Composed in the late 1st cent or early 2nd cent CE, 2 Baruch (a.k.a. the Apocalypse of Baruch or the Syriac Apocalypse of Baruch) is an apocalyptic reflection on the desctruction of the Second Temple retrojected to the time of the destruction of the First Temple.
2 Baruch shared many features and concerns with 4 Baruch, which is also an apocalyptic reflection on the destruction of the Second Temple. The relationship (shared source? dependency?) between 2 Bar and 4 Ezra remains a point of debate.
