jan 1, 1930 - compression
Description:
Compressors were invented many decades ago, and they weren’t even invented for musical purposes. They were originally used in radio stations, because if volume got too high the transmission would stop transmitting, so they used compressors to lower the volume and frequencies so the transmission could still transmit to everyone. Compressors were used on TV and radios between the 1930’s the 1940’s. the western electric 110 limiting amplifier was the first commercially available compressor, this was released in 1937.
