Description:
in 1952 the certification program began to get more advanced with ASHA. The certification to become an SLP involved 30 semester hours with 275 clocked professional experience. They then realized it was not enough so they doubled. In the same year they advanced certification which required 60 semester hours, 400 clocked hours and 4 years of professional experience. There was still no graduate degree or national exam needed.Added to timeline:
