Description:

Up until this point in history, Spain’s armada had never been beaten in battle and was so revered that it was given the nickname the “Invincible Armada”. However, under the rule of Queen Elizabeth I, England defeated the Armada, forcing them to return to Spain and establishing England as a world-class naval power and creator of long-range naval weaponry. By the time the ships returned to Spain, after facing harsh weather conditions and an unexpected loss at sea, nearly 15,000 men had died.
