apr 1, 2003 - My mother took me shopping one day, and she told me the traffic rules in China.---Cognitive Development.

Description:

On that day, it was the first time that my mom went shopping with me who was just three years old at that time and could walk smoothly. We went to the biggest shopping mall located in my hometown. While we finished shopping, we were about to cross the street. The traffic light did not turn green yet, it was still red. My mom told me that people are only allowed to cross the road when the light turns green and we cannot go when the light is red or yellow. simultaneously,my mom let me look at other citizens, they were also waiting for the light turning. Since then, I have known the basic traffic rule.

Regarding to Vygotsky’s Infant Cognitive Development, he argued that social and cultural factors contribute to cognitive development.
He claimed that development first takes place socially as infants observe their parent's behaviour and try to imitate it. As this imitation occurs, parents will guide their children, correcting them and provide challenges for them. Play is also an integral part of cognitive development.
