9h 35min, sep 1, 2006 y - The first day of my primary school---Language Development
Description:
On the first of September 2006, I opened a very important day in my childhood. It was the beginning of my primary school. After the freshman meeting, the teacher sent us a textbook, and then I had a strong interest in Chinese. That was pretty much a threshold for me to learning new knowledge and forming systematic language system. It was a milestone in my life in terms of language development.
According to the language development theory at childhood, as children begin to move on from two-word phrases, they start to gain knowledge of basic grammar.Children begin to develop and use plurals and possessive forms of nouns, prepositions, articles, and various forms of verbs. This improves as time goes on.
Begin to learn and apply rules of syntax - how sentences are formed.Knowledge of words’ meanings also starts to rapidly advance, helping them to form new sentences.Children continue to learn new vocabulary.
Children start to learn culturally specific rules of conversation and politeness. At around four to five years old, they can change their speech style to suit the situation (family vs. friends).
