jan 1, 1340 BC - Nefertiti Bust
Description:
The Bust of Queen Nefertiti is a sculpture by Egyptian sculptor, Thutmose, created around 1340 B.C., almost at the height of pharaoh Akhenaten's power. One of the most famous works of Egyptian art, this sculpture was thought to be just a model for Thutmose to reference while making other portraits. It was uncovered in 1912 by German archaeologists and sent to Berlin, Germany where it rests to this day.
