Description:

The first major battle on the Eastern Front. The 1st and 2nd Russian armies had split and the message planning that movement was intercepted by the Germans, allowing them to fight the two armies separately one after the other. This resulted in the Russian armies being decimated. The Russians suffered over 170 thousand casualties and their military would not recover for a few years to come
