jan 8, 1773 - Tea Act

Description:

The objective was to reduce the massive amount of tea held by the financially struggling British East India Company in its London warehouses and help the struggling company. The act granted the company right to ship the tea directly to the colonies without first landing in England, and to to commision agents who would have the sole right to selling tea in the colonies.
