Rudolf Virchow was born in 1821. He was given a scholarship to study medicine fro the Prussian Army so that he could be an army doctor. Virchow studied in Berlin and then later taught there where he taught many influential scientists.
Virchow learned that whole organisms do not get sick individual cells do than pass the imperfections down. Virchow started cellular pathology field by stating that diseases are from changes in healthy cells. He discovered cells in bones and tissues and recognized leukema.
