Description:

Leeuwenhoek was born on October 24, 1632, in Delft, Netherlands. He was later sent away after his father died when he was young. His mother remarried and his stepfather sent him to Amsterdam to be an apprentice to a linen draper. In 1654 he was married the first time and had five children with her. Only one child lived past childhood. Leeuwenhoek later remarried for her to die 23 years later.
During his first marriage, he got a secure job as a chamberlain. He then devoted his time to creating microscopes. Leeuwenhoek's simple microscopes were preferred to the compound microscopes. He gave a representation of bacteria stating that animals and cells do not spontaneity appear but repopulate.representation of bacteria
