jan 1, 1938 - Year 1938:
Improvements are made to the electric steam
iron base plate to prevent rust.
Description:
Due to extensive amounts of moisture being sprayed through the traditionally steel base plates of steam irons, rust and deterioration was commonplace on many of them. To prevent this, the new generation of steam irons was equipped with an aluminum alloy base that did not rust, and lasted far longer than their steel/iron counterparts.
