Moving back east, another Indian mathmetician called Brahmagupta made significant advancements in the world of math. He had invented the concept of zero as a placeholder as well as the concept of positive and negative numbers. He used the terminology "debt" and "fortune" to describe negative and positive numbers respectively.
His main book, Brahmasphutasiddhanta, should be added to this list because it provides many new methods of doing existing math, it introduces new concepts, and it introduced the quadratic formula
