The Commodore was the rival of the Spectrum, and the debate for which is better still goes on to this day. While the Sinclair delivered improved graphics, the Commodore was able to build upon them further, with games having a mix of colours rather than just having games using one or two colours. The Commodore was able to use it's sound to make clever effects. Games like Bubble Bobble made the Commodore stand out because it brought new genres to games as well as new mechanics.Added to timeline:
