nov 7, 1917 - Storming of the Winter Palace
Description:
The working class was ready for a change. Vladimir Lenin was the leader of the Bolshevik party in Russia at the time, he knew that the only way anything was going to change was if Alexander Kerensky was taken out of office, but Lenin didn't want to do anything in a violent way, so he sent in his "Red Gaurd" to seize the Winter Palace. He kelp his word on no violence and no a single shot was fired. The "Red Gaurd" arrested Alexander Kerensky and Vladimir Lenin became the leader of Russia. The first thing Lenin did was redistribute the farmland and factories back to the people.
The Storming of the Palace led directly into the Civil war. The middle and Upper class did not like the fact that Russia was now a communist country. They were rich and fans of capitalism now money didn't much matter. When Lenin gave the command to execute the Ex-Tsar Nicolas II and his son, the middle and upper classes got angry and the start of the Russian Civil war began. Red verse White.
