Description:
The Maccabean Revolt started in 168 BCE after a Jewish temple was converted into a shrine of the Greek god Zeus.
Due to this conversion, a group of rebels called the Maccabees was created and they revolted leading to them taking over Jerusalem and reverting the shrine back into a Jewish temple.
