Diaspora means dispersal or the sowing of seeds and was used as the term to describe when the Jewish people had to live outside of Israel.
Pockets of the Jewish community popped up in multiple countries especially around the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
Alexander the Great conquered most of the world that was known at the time in 332 BCE which caused for the Jewish people to be influenced by Greek culture in the process of Hellenization.
