jan 1, 1978 - Lexicon 244

Description:

Following the success of the EMT 250, and completely surpassing it, the Lexicon 244 was unveiled at the AES Show in 1978. This easily became the most ubiquitous and popular high-end studio reverb unit in history. The 244 is an early digital reverb that was well known for its spacey and extra-long decays. The reverb unit was conceived when Dr. David Griesinger started working on a digital solution to reverb. Seeing EMT’s 250 encouraged him to merge a microcomputer with his reverb design.
