nov 28, 1904 - Bryan-Debs Meeting

Description:

Eugene V. Debs and Daniel DeLeon meet with William Jennings Bryan in Washington. While no formal announcement is made, it is generally (and correctly) assumed that the purpose of the meeting was to obtain Democratic support for Syndicalist candidates. Given the lack of a Republican majority in the Senate, that would likely deliver the Vice-Presidency to DeLeon, although the Republican position in the House would probably ensure that McKinley is reelected to the Presidency.
